[...] This package is designed for couples who want something special to remember their wedding day with. The centerpiece is the Wedding Highlights Program. What we do here is to distill the day down into a 20 to 40 minute film. The approach here is to capture feelings and emotion. We aim for a more cinematic approach which makes the Highlights Program into a wedding day movie rather then just a documentary. Some examples can be found here. [...]

The advantage of using Nero as explained in the article is that I have the ability to create completely custom menus, not just modified versions of the canned menus. Nero also gives full control over chapter placement which is not possible in Toast. Working with a Windows app in OS-X doesn't have to mean rebooting into your Bootcamp partition. Using a Virtualization tool like Fusion or Parallels (I use Fusion myself) allows me to run Windows directly on the OS-X desktop. No booting necessary. Nero works very nicely this way, although I have had some issues burning a DVD in Fusion 1.0 (ver 2.0 just came out so I will have to give it another try). What I have been doing is to author in Nero, but write to a folder in OS-X (you can do this very easily in Fusion), instead of burning the disk directly. Then I use Toast to burn the disk. This works well for me as I am almost always burning multiple disks anyway.

You realize of course, that if you make a little effort and look around the insides of Toast, you can easily add your own menus or at a minimum alter the existing ones to your liking. Sure, you still don't have things like chapter menus or the likes, but it sure beats having to do all the rebooting and dealing with Windows crap...

Some additional notes here. I recently completed my first full length Wedding Highlight video using the AVCHD on DVD method above. Does it work? yes. Is is a substitute for real Blu-ray authoring? No. The quality is not quite there as the data rate is less than half of Blu-ray. I notice some blockiness at times. While it is HD, AVCHD on DVD is not Blu-ray. But for now this method provides a way to get HD to my clients without having to invest in a Blu-ray burner.

We are so greatful that Alan and his team at Bonnie Blink could be there to record our wedding. They were very professional thoughout the day and it's obvious they love what they do. Jason and I couldn't be happier with the videos and all of our friends and co-workers have been crying along with us as we watch and keep re-watching the videos..over and over again. Thanks Bonnie Blink! Great Job!

If you are having problems with the A1 in low light, you should look on dvinfo.net. There are a number of custom presets that can improve the image under low light conditions (with high gain). Of course there is always a tradeoff. Ghosting with the NR1 setting can be a problem You can also end up with washed out or poor colors. The only thing is to experiment
